May is known across Canada as the nationally recognized Speech and Hearing Awareness Month.
May is known to speech, language and hearing professionals, otherwise known as Speech-Language Pathologists, Audiologists and Communication Disorders Assistants, as the month to bring awareness to communication disorders. The goal is to promote early detection, prevention and treatment of communication disorders as well as increase public sensitivity and appreciation for those living and working with communication disorders.
Every year the Office of Cheryl D. Lindsay, M.S., S-LP teams up with Mandy Rhody, Audiologist, and the Hanover Early Years Centre to offer a free Speech and Hearing Screening. A very special thanks goes out to all who participated in the screenings this year, as they were both a huge success!
